Meteorage hosted the European Lightning Detection Workshop (ELDW) 2025
Yesterday, Meteorage had the pleasure of hosting the European Lightning Detection Workshop (ELDW) at its headquarters in Pau. A key event gathering Europe’s leading lightning detection network operators for a day dedicated to collaboration, innovation, and shared expertise.
The ELDW is the annual key meeting for all lightning location system operators across Europe. It provides a unique opportunity to exchange insights on technical improvements, network performance, validation techniques, and other topics related to lightning detection.
This year’s edition featured a full day of conferences focusing on:
Technological innovations in lightning detection,
Analysis and comparison of thunderstorm activity,
Lightning impact studies and comparison between human and instrumental observations.
The objective of this event was to discuss current challenges and anticipate those of tomorrow, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices across the European lightning detection community.
